For more than two centuries, Bardstown has been a beacon for saints and sinners alike. Cradle of Catholicism on the Western Frontier and producer of most of the world’s bourbon whiskey, it attracts thousands of tourists each year. Big visitor magnets are old homes, especially Federal Hill, the inspiration for “My Old Kentucky Home,” and the summer outdoor musicale, The Stephen Foster Story.
