After the death of her mother and daughter in the same year, Jeanne Penn has sole responsibility of Penn's Store. In the past, she did behind the scenes work for the store such as putting together events. Now she has that responsibility plus the job of taking care of two farms. As a result, the store sits closed and alone on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of every week.

Penn often sits in the store alone during slow days. "A lot of business depends on the weather," she said. That day she had five customers from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Olivia and her mother, Dawn Osborn, helped out at Penn's Store getting the Halloween decorations up. Later they fed pears to Penn's cows and picked apples off a tree in her backyard. "This apple is better mi mi," Olivia said after her grandmother boosted her into the tree to reach a better apple.
