Mayor Gary Crenshaw stokes his horses to calm them. Crenshaw said he tries to visit his horses three times a week. He said that being surrounded by horses and trees offers him a sense of tranquility.

Mayor Gary Crenshaw plays the role of the district director of the United States Department of Agriculture. The mayoral position is a part-tim endeavor. Crenshaw said that when ever he plays the role of a mayor he has to take vacation from the other job.

Crenshaw has been a mayor of Lebanon for almost six years, prior to being a mayor he served in the city council for seven years. Crenshaw said he has lived out of Lebanon for several years but have decided to comeback and serve the community that gave him many good memories as he was growing up.

John Stuart Mattingly, 18, feeds the hogs as part of his morning duties. Mattingly recently finished high school and started working at Thad Peterson\\\'s farm as a farm hand. He said that his family has a dairy farm but he prefers to work with hogs.
