Family Farm

Clint Walker works on and learns a little more about the family farm everyday. One day his father, Russell, hopes that his children can carry on the family's tradition of farming.

Russell Walker, 45, feeds one of his calves on the farm he shares with two of his brothers and his father in Lawrenceburg, Ky. Russell's son, clint, 10, looks on and learns from his dad while on fall break from school. "Some of 'em feed easier than others," Russell said.

Russell Walker, 45, local lifelong farmer in Lawrenceburg, Ky, focuses his energy on making sure the family farm runs smooth and efficient. He checks the equipment regularly to stay ahead of potential problems. "On the farm there's something everyday that comes up," Walker said.

Audra Walker, 12, helps her family with work on the family farm. Walker is currently on Fall Break from school allowing her the free time necessary to help out. When asked what career she envisions for her future, she replies simply, "I want to be a veternarian."

Rachael Walker, 11, left, and her cousin Audra Walker, 12, help their parents feed calves on the family farm. Rachael's brother Clint, 10, right, also helps with the chores. The three are on Fall Break from school and are able to give their time without the conflict of classes or homework.

Russell kisses his son, Ethan, 3. Ethan helps on his dad's farm sometimes. "I don't bring him out here very often because it's hard to watch him," Russell said.
